Patricia Jean (nee Schmolz) Ellis, 85, of Mentor, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 10, 2024, at her residence with her family at her side.
She was born Oct. 11, 1938, in Cleveland.
Patricia loved nature and birds and enjoyed the Holden Arboretum, where she was a former employee and volunteer.
Patricia was the loving mother of Ron Ellis and Jean (Rich) Coates; cherished grandmother of Paul (Pati), Erik, and John; great-grandmother of Hailey, Piper, Blakely and Alexandria; and aunt of nieces and nephews.
Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David J. Ellis (2017); loving son, Steve Ellis; parents, Rollin and Elizabeth (nee Metzler) Schmolz; and siblings, Richard Schmolz and Carol Cobb.
Family will receive friends 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 7, at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Home, 6330 Center St., (Rt. 615, North of Rt. 2), in Mentor, with a Celebration of Life Service at 3:30 p.m. Pastor Mike Currier will be officiating.
