Obituary for Nelson Charles Bross

Nelson Charles Bross, 71, of Mentor, passed away Friday, June 3, 2022, at his residence.
Born July 31, 1950, in Mt. Vernon, Ohio, he had lived in the states of Washington and Arizona before moving to Lake County 30 years ago.
“Nelly,” as some of his family members would call him, and ironically his wife, Patty’s first car was named Nelly, prior to ever meeting her best friend and beloved husband, Nelson. He was a graduate of Ontario High School, where he was a star athlete in football, baseball and track. He also attended North Central Tech, majoring and graduating with a degree in drafting. Nelson enjoyed watching sports, fishing, hiking, woodworking, refinishing antiques and traveling anywhere. He was a humble, gentle, quiet, soft-spoken, compassionate, altruistic man, who was loved and respected by many. He would do anything to help others.
Nelson was proud to be an American, respected our flag and all those who served. He loved our veterans! After prayers at mealtimes, Nelson would say, “And God Bless America!”
Mr. Bross had retired from the Lincoln Electric Robotics Division.
Before he passed, he spoke to his wife about their life adventures, joys and his many blessings of family and friends. The light of his life was his daughter, Alecia and granddaughter, Jilliana.
“Don’t sweat the small stuff. Thank you our dear and wonderful families and friends for your love, comfort and support. I so loved all of you. God Bless.”
Nelson was the beloved husband of Patricia Ann (nee Paone) Bross; loving father of Alecia Arlene (nee Bross) Nagy; cherished grandfather of Jilliana Margrett Arlene Bross; dear son of Lucille (nee Boeshart) Bross; brother of Linda (Dr. Dan) Masys, Dianne Schroeder, Michael (Cathy) Bross and Terry (Donna) Bross; brother-in-law of Linda Bross, Debra Bross, Kathy Paone, Diana and Philip D’Angelo, Joanne and Donald Stevens, John and Jolie Paone; and uncle of many beautiful and wonderful nieces and nephews, with a special note to Kenneth and Matthew Swope - “My boys-I never had.”
He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford Bross; brothers, Larry and Thomas Bross; paternal grandparents, Ora and Lulu Bross; maternal grandparents, Edward and Mary Boeshart; brothers-in-law, Larry Schroeder and David Paone Jr.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, David and June Paone.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), in Mentor, with a Celebration of Life service at 6 p.m. Burial will be private.
