Obituary for Mary Ellen Wright
Funeral Mass for Mary Ellen Wright, 86, of Eastlake, will be 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 4, 2023, at St. Justin Martyr Church, 35711 Stevens Blvd., Eastlake.
Mary Ellen passed away Monday, July 31, 2023, at Fairmount Healthcare Center in Willoughby surrounded by her family.
Born July 7, 1937, in Uniontown, Pa., she had been a resident of Eastlake since 1964.
She loved to knit and crochet, enjoyed reading, and was an amazing cook, especially desserts. Mary Ellen had also been a wonderful caretaker for many.
Mary Ellen was the loving mother of Richard T. Wright Jr. of Euclid, Pamela S. (Robert) Turk of Willoughby, Scott A. Wright of Eastlake, and Kristi L. (Dan) Komara of Willowick; cherished grandmother of Sara (Matt) Border, Stefanie (Kevin) Amrine, Heather Wright, Nicole Wright, Shelley Turk, Maddi (Chris) Alflen, Katie Wright, Molly Komara, Brayden Komara and Payten Komara; great-grandmother of nine; great-great-grandmother of one; and sister of John Kostelnik of Henderson, Nev.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard T. Wright; parents, John Francis and Mary (nee Maslar) Kostelnik; and siblings, Andrew Kostelnik, William Kostelnik, Michael Kostelnik, and Betty Jane Sauto.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, 2023, at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave. (located on the grounds of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home), in Willoughby. Burial will follow the Mass at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
