Obituary for Mary M Turk

Funeral Mass for Mary M. (nee Berkopec) Turk, age 106, of Euclid, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, at St. Mary’s Church, 15519 Holmes Ave., Cleveland.
Mary passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at the Slovene Home for the Aged in Cleveland.
She was born July 25, 1916, in Cleveland.
Mary’s devotion to her country prompted her to enlist in the U.S. Army Air Corps, and served during World War II. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Church in Euclid and the Euclid Senior Center. Affectionately known as “Aunt May,” she had many friends and shared her love, warmth, kindness, encouragement and wonderful sense of humor with everyone.
Mrs. Turk was formerly employed as a clerk in the U.S. Navy Finance Service personnel department and had also worked as a medical assistant and dental assistant.
She was the loving aunt of many nieces and nephews including, Frank (Janet) Berkopec, Janice Krebs, Elaine M. Berkopec, O.S.U., Betty A. Delli, Marlene (John) Ebert, Adele Mortensen and Tamara Martinko.
Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Albert Turk in 1998; parents, Frank and Anna (nee Hrovat) Berkopec; siblings, Joseph Berkopec, Anna (John, dec.) Muhic, Frank A. (Jane, dec.) Berkopec and George Berkopec; and the spouses of her nieces, Michael Krebs and Jim Delli.
Family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the 11 AM Mass at St. Mary’s Church. Burial will follow the Mass at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
