Obituary for Mary J Lally
Mary J. Lally, 86, of Willoughby, passed away Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022, at Solon Pointe Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation.
Born Nov. 20, 1935, in Cleveland, she had been a longtime Willoughby resident.
Mary was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Wickliffe and a longtime active charter member of the Irish American Club East Side Inc., where she had worked on many committees and in all other phases of the club. She also enjoyed sewing and cooking.
She was a member of U.F & C.W. (United Food & Commercial Workers) Union.
Mary was the loving mother of Charles M. (Leslie) Sekerak, Joyce E. (Jim) Schnitz, Michael T. “Mick” (Jane) Sekerak, and Therese E. “Teri” Sekerak (Vince Rylant); cherished grandmother of Matthew (Brody), Daniel (Olivia), and Christopher; great-grandmother of Sybil; and sister-in-law of Fay Kastan, Judith Lally and Georgia Lally.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Mary (nee Joyce) Lally; and siblings, Martin Lally, Luke Lally, William Lally and Robert Lally.
Family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave. (located on the grounds of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home), in Willoughby, with a Celebration of Life service at 6 p.m.
