Obituary for Martha Ann Davis
Martha Ann (nee Miller) Davis, 94, of Mentor-on-the-Lake, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2022, at UH Lake West Medical Center in Willoughby.
Born June 18, 1928, in Cleveland, she had lived in Euclid before moving to Lake County more than 55 years ago.
Martha loved bowling in leagues at Palisades Lanes in Mentor, crocheting and doing crossword puzzles. She enjoyed being pampered and having her nails done.
Mrs. Davis had worked at the GM Fisher Body Plant, retiring after 25 years. She had also worked at Candy & Flowers for 20 years.
Martha was the loving mother of Linda S. (Chet) Celebucki and Martha Ann Doljac; cherished grandmother of Cyndi (Brent) Bramley, Wendy (Matt) Heuston, David Doljac and Jennifer (Dean) Dinobile; great-grandmother of Carlton (Kai) Smith, Cathryn Smith, Chelsea (Cory) Marthe-Rodia, Richard (Hannah) Marthe III, Miranda Marthe, Dominick Dinobile and Evan Dinobile; great-great-grandmother of Avah Rodia, Cory Rodia Jr., Cai Rodia, Cian Rodia, Coldenn Marthe and Baby Bean Marthe; and aunt of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, James E. Davis Sr.; son, James E. Davis Jr.; grandson, Michael Stephens; parents, Lloyd and Martha (nee Samson) Miller; and siblings, Johnny, Ann, Pauline and Olga.
Family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), in Mentor, where a Celebration of Life service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday. Pastor Bob Heggestad will officiate. Burial will be at Mentor Cemetery.
