Obituary for Marjorie Ann Carroll

Marjorie Ann Carroll, 78, of Mentor, passed away Friday, Feb. 3, 2023, in Eastlake.
Born Sept. 18, 1944, in New York, N.Y., she had been a resident of Lake County for 45 years living in Mentor.
She loved to travel and dance, especially to Doo Wop music, never passed up a good party, loved her family and enjoyed celebrating with them, had a huge heart and was always first to help. Marjorie was also very proud of her Irish heritage.
Marjorie had worked as an oncology nurse at The Cleveland Clinic for more than 30 years, and loved working for Dr. Adelstein.
She was the loving mother of Walter R.K. (Catherine) Van Kirk of Madison, Michael P.K. (Kathleen) Van Kirk of Palm Bay, Fla., Robert J. Van Kirk Jr. of Manassas, Va., and Peggy A. (Robert) Stevenson of Mentor-on-the-Lake; cherished grandmother of Matthew, Jeffery, Christina, Daniel, Meghan, Michael, Roxanne, Veronica, Victoria Jade, Jessica, Ozzy, and Sean Quinn; great-grandmother of Ethan, Bella, Lilly, Aiden, Josslyn, Blaze, Zuree, Emmett, Elliott, Adalyn, Geoffrey, Silas and Harper; dear sister of Maureen and Patricia; and aunt of nieces and nephews.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Koepke; second husband, Robert J. Van Kirk; parents, James and Agnes (nee Carrollan) Carroll; and siblings, Kathleen and Joan.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave. (located on the grounds of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home), in Willoughby, with a Celebration of Life at 6:30 p.m.
