Obituary for Louise "Weezer" Blatnica

"Together Again"
Louise “Weezer” Blatnica, 84, of Palm Harbor, Fla., passed away peacefully Nov. 13, 2023, surrounded by family in Painesville.
She was born Dec. 21, 1938, to Edward and Evelyn Rhodes.
Louise was born in Allentown, Pa., but spent the majority of her youth in Northeast Ohio. Louise later met the love of her life, Robert Blatnica and started a family of her own. At 49, Louise and Bob began the last chapter of their lives in Palm Harbor.
Louise had a passion for cooking, baking and was known for her delicious cheesecakes, assortment of Christmas cookies, and homemade pies. When she was not baking, she enjoyed building puzzles, playing rummy cube and socializing with friends at Mystic Fish Restaurant.
Louise worked as a waitress at the Sheraton as well as a dietary aide at St. Marks Village in Palm Harbor, Fla., while maintaining the home Louise and Bob shared. When not at work, the remainder of her time was spent as a caregiver for her husband, Bob and the fulltime needs of her close friend, Madeline. The legacy she leaves behind is that of a deeply devout Catholic, whose faith was exemplified by her selfless giving and hard-working nature.
Louise lived a life full of love, compassion, and joy. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Her kindness touched the lives of all who knew her.
Louise is survived by her children, Jennifer (Dominic) Casale, Rebecca (Mark) Naymik, and Robert (Pamela) Blatnica; grandchildren, Jennifer (Dylan) Dacar, Danelle (Ryan) Sisler, Michelle (Bobby) Bolger, Ryan (Katherine) Naymik, Brittany (Jacob) Sermak, Kimberly (Jacob) Cooper, Michael (Jenna) Naymik, Kali (Trent) Szente, Raymond Blatnica and Joseph (Melanie) Casale; great grandchildren, Tyler Sisler, Olyvia and Julia Dacar, Aubrey and Brenden Bolger, Lola and Logan Sisler, Caeden Bolger, Remington Szente, Aria Naymik, Theodore Sermak, and James Greyson Cooper, who will forever cherish the memories created with her; and brother, Louis (Bo) Rhodes of Dover, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Blatnica; daughter, Debra “Bunnie” Hunter; and brothers, Larry (Barb) and Bud Rhodes.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Louise's life from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at Holy Family Catholic Parish, 7367 York Rd., Parma, OH 44230. A Mass will follow at 10 a.m.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the support and care provided by Hospice of Western Reserve and University Hospitals. The support offered during this difficult time has been of great comfort to those who knew Louise.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to American Cancer Society in memory of Louise Blatnica.
Arrangements are entrusted to McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Homes in Willoughby and Mentor.
