Obituary for Lois A Seketa
Lois A. (nee LaRiche) Seketa, 88, of Kirtland, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at Hospice House of the Western Reserve in Cleveland.
She was born Aug. 29, 1934, in Cleveland.
After graduating high school in Cleveland, she married her high school sweetheart, Ronald Seketa in 1953, with whom she recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on June 20, 2023. Shortly after their marriage, they raised a family of three children.
Lois owned a motel in Geneva-on-the-Lake. Following her retirement, they bought a motor home and spent 24 years traveling part-time to 48 states. Her greatest happiness though was visiting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by many.
She was the beloved wife of 70 years to Ron Seketa; loving mother of Craig (Shari) Seketa; dear mother-in-law of Laura Seketa and Marcia Seketa; cherished grandmother of Dan, Alex and Nick; she was a great-grandmother; and sister of Linda Fowler, Warren LaRiche and Tim LaRiche.
Lois was preceded in death by her sons, Ken and Bob Seketa; parents, Louis and Anne (nee D’Amico) LaRiche; and brothers, Bob and William LaRiche.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 29, at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby, and from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home before processing to a graveside service to take place 11 a.m. at South Kirtland Cemetery, 10444 Chillicothe Road, Kirtland.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name are suggested to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110.
