Obituary for Lillian M Gilbert

Funeral Mass for Lillian M. (nee Plunket) Gilbert, 84, of Mentor, will be 11 a.m. Thursday, June 2, at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 9114 Lakeshore Blvd., Mentor.
Lillian passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at Hospice House of the Western Reserve in Cleveland.
Born Jan. 21, 1938, in Clearfield Township, Pa., she had been a resident of Lake County for 62 years.
Lillian was a member of St. Bede the Venerable Church, where she was a Eucharistic Minister and also made Rosaries in her spare time for family and friends. She was very independent and put family and friends first. Lillian also had quite the green thumb and loved being outside working in her flower gardens. She took great pride in a clean house and a lovely yard.
She was the loving mother of William Gilbert and David Gilbert; cherished grandmother of Tony (Jessica) Gilbert, Rebecca (Noe) Armandiaz, Tristen Gilbert and Teagan Gilbert; great-grandmother of Alden Gilbert and Julia Gilbert; sister of George (Mary) Plunket and Esther (Bernie) Zabinski; sister-in-law of Cheryl Plunket; and aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Lillian was preceded in death by her son, Lee Gilbert; parents, William J. and Marie Matilda (nee Cretin) Plunket; and siblings, Ann (Tom, dec.) Bowmaster, Coletta (Dominic, dec.) Skali, Helen (Jim, dec.) Adams, Flo Plunket and Tom Plunket.
Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), in Mentor. Burial will follow the Mass at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township.
