Obituary for Kathleen Mortach

Kathleen (nee Pallak) Mortach, 70, of Hilliard, departed from us Jan. 9, 2024, peacefully in her home.
She was a dedicated nurse, graduating from the Willoughby Eastlake School of Nursing in 1972, and selflessly served in the profession for over 40 years.
A passionate crafter, Kathy found joy in creating beautiful works of art, infusing her surroundings with creativity and warmth. Her love for crafting was only rivaled by her unwavering devotion to the music of Neil Diamond, a source of comfort and inspiration throughout her life.
Kathy leaves behind a legacy of love and care, and her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Jim; cherished daughters, Carole Meursault of North Royalton, and Rachel (Dominic) Valentino of Columbus. She was the adoring grandmother of Christina (Colin) McKean, and Nathan; dearly beloved great-grandmother of Jaxon, Liam, Mara, and Emma; dear sister of Ann (Michael) Nykiel and Randy (Doris) Pallak; and aunt of nieces and nephews, who share in the grief of her loss.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, George and Fay Pallak; sisters, Linda Korosec and Debbie Singleton; and brother, Jeffrey Pallak.
Family will receive friends from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024, at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby, with a Celebration of Life service at 3:30 p.m.
“May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love that she so generously gave during her time with us.”
