Obituary for Karen O'Hara

Funeral Mass for Karen B. (nee Bauer) O’Hara, 85, of Bratenahl, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at St. Peter Church, 1533 E. 17th St., in Cleveland. Father Phil Bernier will be the celebrant. (*Please meet at church.)
Karen passed away Thursday, March 21, 2024, in Cleveland.
Born April 19, 1938, in Cleveland, she had been a lifelong resident of Cuyahoga County.
Karen was a member of St. Peter Church, was an undergraduate of St. Mary’s College, and received her Master’s Degree in Humanities from John Carroll University. Karen left many dear friends and will forever live in their hearts. She will be remembered as a woman of grace and beauty inside and out, intelligence, humor, caring, compassion and determination, but above all as a person with a joyful love of God and family. Those who knew her were fortunate and cherished her memory.
She was the beloved wife of 63 years to Joseph O’Hara; loving mother of Elizabeth, Thomas (Cynthia), Holly, Deborah, and Kathleen O’Hara, Christine (Thomas) Hynes; cherished grandmother of Kristen, Matthew, Allison and Kaitlyn O’Hara, Nicholas Hardy, Jack and Kiera Hynes; and sister of Willam (Betsy) Bauer.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Matthew and Marie Bauer.
Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 25, at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Burial will follow the Mass
Tuesday at Knollwood Cemetery in Mayfield Heights.
