Obituary for June Louise Grgurich
Funeral Mass for June Louise (nee Stephens) Grgurich, 87, of Concord Township, will be 12 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 8560 Mentor Ave., Mentor.
June passed away peacefully Monday, Aug. 7, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born June 8, 1936, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, she married in 1955, and immigrated here to the United States with her husband, Anthony J. Grgurich.
She was the beloved wife of Anthony J. Grgurich for 68 years; loving mother of David (Nancie) Grgurich of Concord Township, Michelle (Richard) Iafelice of Concord, and Lori (John) Wawrowski of Medina; cherished grandmother of R. Andrew (Mary) Iafelice, Major, USMC; Amanda (Kevin) Smith, Courtney Wawrowski, Kevin Grgurich, Nicholas Iafelice (fiancée, Amy Rubenstein), Jacklyn (Thomas) Grgurich-Andreski, and Taylor Wawrowski (fiancé, John Anna); great-grandmother of Parker and Henry Smith; dear sister of Gail (George) McLellan and Diane (Neil) Graver; sister-in-law of Hugh Gunn and Donna Stephens; and aunt of many nieces and nephews.
June was preceded in death by her son, Kevin J. Grgurich; parents, Ellis and Louise (nee Primeau) Stephens; and siblings, Jeanne McGirr, Arlene (Pete, dec.) Levis, Patty Gunn, Jack Stephens, and Carole Richmond.
June and her husband Tony enjoyed many wonderful times in their car club with several antiques Tony restored. She also enjoyed shopping, playing bingo, sewing, and spending time with her family. Her special love was for her seven grandchildren. She was very much involved in their lives growing up. They will always cherish her memory through her love and kindness she shared with them.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 pm, Monday, Aug. 14, at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave. (located on the grounds of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home), in Willoughby. Burial will follow the Mass at All Souls Cemetery.
