Obituary for Julie Anne Spiesman
Julie Anne (nee Shingledecker) Spiesman, 51, of Mentor-on-the-Lake, passed away Dec. 1, 2022, at UH Lake West Medical Center in Willoughby.
Julie was born Jan. 27, 1971, on the island of Okinawa to Charles “Sonny” and Mary “Terry” Shingledecker, and was a lifelong resident of Mentor-on-the-Lake.
Julie had two sons, Collin and Kevin Orosz, who were the loves and light of her life. She was a 1989 graduate of Mentor High School, an avid fan of Mentor High School sports and volunteered with several Cardinal organizations. Julie was also an Ohio State Buckeyes fan, and loved her two dogs, Brutus and Buckeye. She enjoyed spending time with her aunt, Wendy with whom she was very close.
In addition to her sons and parents, Julie is survived by her brother, Todd (Danielle Templin) Shingledecker; nieces, Paige Matsko and Kori Shingledecker; and longtime companion, Carey Orosz. She will also be missed by several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Julie was preceded in death by her brother, Karl Shingledecker.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 and 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), in Mentor, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
