Obituary for Joy Constance Wissinger

Joy Constance (nee Eaton) Wissinger, 85, of Mentor, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Heather Hill Care Communities in Chardon.
Born Aug. 23, 1938, in Watertown, N.Y., she had been a resident of Lake County for 47 years.
Joy was a member of True Hope Bible Church in Kirtland, and enjoyed kayaking, camping, word puzzles and reading the Bible.
She was a proud teacher and had worked at Mentor Christian School, the West Geauga School System and Huntsburg School System, and retired from Deepwood Industries in 2002.
Joy was the beloved wife of 63 years to William V. Wissinger; loving mother of Karen Jeanine Olivia Queen; cherished grandmother of Joshua Wissinger, Christie Heartlily, Krieg Harley Wissinger, Chrystal (Chris) Bordelon and Crimson (Brendan) Eisenhower-Surmik; great-grandmother of RaeLynn, Billy and Penny; dear sister of Gwendolyn (Lynn) Smith and Gloria Maxwell; and aunt of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her children, Jeffrey William Wissinger and Kathy Joy Eisenhower; and parents, Earl and Olive (nee Codsworth) Eaton.
Family will receive friends from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 22, at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave. (located on the grounds of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home), in Willoughby, with a Eulogy and Prayer Service at 6:15 p.m. A graveside service will take place 11 a.m. Saturday, March 23, at Willoughby Memorial Gardens.
