Obituary for Jolene C Wahl
Funeral Mass for Jolene C. (nee Schemmel) Wahl, 85, of Pepper Pike, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Dominic’s Church, 19000 Van Aken Blvd., Shaker Heights. (Family and friends are to meet at church.)
Jolene passed away Monday, Jan. 4, 2021.
She was born March 8, 1935, in Sydney, Ohio.
Jolene was a member of St. Dominic’s Church and a very devout Catholic who loved singing and was a former member of the St. Dominic’s Church Choir. She also enjoyed gardening.
Mrs. Wahl was a retired employee of the Shaker Heights Board of Education, retiring after 20 years of service.
Jolene was the loving mother of Walter (Nancy) Ranft, Theresa Davis, Thomas Ranft and Anna (Mark) Pountney; cherished grandmother of Brian Ranft (Megan Mericka), Emily (Nick) Umstattd, Andrew Davis, Peter Davis, Olivia Davis, Paul Pountney, Morgan Pountney, Grace Pountney (Mike Rataiczak), Isabelle Pountney and Sophia Pountney; sister of Lee Schemmel and Anne (nee Schemmel) Monnier; and aunt of nieces and nephews. She also leaves her former son-in-law, Mark Davis.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Lawrence Wahl; former husband, Robert Ranft; parents, Charles and Edna (nee Kinninger) Schemmel; and brother-in-law, Larry Monnier.
Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to St. Dominic’s Church.
