Obituary for John E "Jack" Savage

John E. "Jack" Savage, 87, of Painesville, passed away Friday, April 23, 2021, at Lake Health West Medical Center in Willoughby with his family by his side.
Born June 11, 1933, in Cleveland, he had been a resident of Lake County for 25 years.
Jack was a U.S. Army veteran, and a former member of St. Paschal Baylon Church, where he was an athletic director, CYO coach and served as an usher. He was also a member of the Fairport Harbor Yacht Club and Wickliffe Eagles. Jack was an avid sports fan, season ticket holder for the Browns, an Indians and Cavaliers fan, and enjoyed boating, golfing and fishing.
He was the beloved husband of Carolyn L. (nee Antonini) Savage; father of Beth Ross, Mary Jo Meyer and John E. Savage Jr.; stepfather of Kelly (Arne) Goldman, Kenneth (Geralyn) Lynce, and Melissa (Jeff) Malusky; cherished grandfather of John E. Savage III (dec.), Cory Savage, Julia Savage, Jessica (Chad) Clark, Jimmy Ross, Maggie Meyer, Charlie (Jenna) Meyer, Jack Meyer, Jordan Johnson, Josie Malusky, Veronica Malusky, Shannon Lynce and Gianna Goldman; great-grandfather of Michael and Jaxon; son of the late William and Veronica (nee Zijunas) Savage; brother of Robert (Frances, dec.) Savage and the late William Savage; and uncle of nieces and nephews. He also leaves his beloved dog, Sadie.
Memorial Mass will be 10 AM Thursday at St. Paschal Baylon Church, 5384 Wilson Mills Road, Highland Heights. Family will receive friends from 9:40 AM Thursday until the time of the Mass at church. Burial will be private.
