Obituary for John J Collins

John J. Collins, 76, of Tarpon Springs, Fla., passed away Saturday, March 20, 2021, at his residence in Tarpon Springs, Florida.
He was born April 10, 1944, in Cleveland.
John was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Korea and Vietnam.
He was the beloved husband of Maureen (nee O’Connor) Collins; loving father of Tina Ruzicka of Willoughby and David Collins of Kettering; cherished grandfather of four; great-grandfather of one; and dear brother of Bill Collins of Easley, S.C., and Sandy Collins of Ocala, Fla. He was preceded in death by his brother Glenn, sisters Rose, Jerry and Shirley. He was Uncle John to so many wonderful nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents, John J. and Dorothy (nee Armstrong) Collins.
John loved to travel, hike, bike, golf, read books and do his cardiac workout with his trainer Matt. In later years he found his passion for acting and he loved taking his little dog Vinny for long walks along the Gulf of Mexico at Fred Howard Park in Tarpon Springs.
Graveside services will be held 12 p.m. Thursday, April 15, at All Souls Cemetery, 10366 Chardon Road, in Chardon Township.
