James F. Scott
James F. Scott, 69, of Euclid, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 26. 2023, at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights after an extended battle with cancer.
He was born Oct. 1, 1953, in Euclid.
James graduated from Euclid High School in 1972, served in the U.S. Army, completed a Max Hayes Carpentry Apprenticeship, and was a member of the Carpenter’s Union in Cleveland and the American Legion.
Mr. Scott worked as a carpenter and supervisor at Dunbar Construction in Bedford and John G. Johnson Construction in Chagrin Falls, was the owner of Scott Enterprise in Cleveland from 1986 to 1994, and property manager for D.J. Scott Trust in Strongsville from 2008 to 2012.
James was the beloved husband of Linda (née Yeckley) Scott; loving father of Carissa (Mitch) Davidson, Marla (Cordell) Rolle, and Jessica (Keith) Connor; cherished grandfather of Seircia, Emmit, Oliver, James, Mason, Miles and Lars; brother of Robert O. Scott and William G. Scott; and “Papa” to Angelena DePalma.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John F. and Jean E. Scott; and siblings, John D. Scott and Rebecca J. Scott.
Family will receive friends from 12 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2023, at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave. (located on the grounds of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home), in Willoughby. Burial with Military Honors will follow the visitation at Lake View Cemetery in Cleveland and the family would be honored if you would join them at the cemetery.
