Obituary for Ivka Bartulovic

Ivka Bartulovic, age 66, of Cleveland passed away peacefully July 8, 2023.
She was born April 21, 1957, in Kresevo, Bosnia to Anton and Matija (nee Milicevic) Bartulovic.
Ivka came to America in 1978 at the age of 19 from Bosnia. She lived with her brother, Ciro and his family until she was financially stable to live on her own. She worked as a seamstress in the 1980s at Richmond Brothers until they closed the plant in the early 1990s.
Ivka had a strong Catholic upbringing and up until her death her faith was the most important thing in her life next to her love for her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed listening to live Croatian music with her friends and telling jokes. Her favorite pastimes were smoking, drinking coffee and taking many naps. Ivka was a strong-willed and resilient woman, who was always very independent and knew what she wanted until she became ill in her early 30s. Ivka will always be remembered as Tetka Ivka to her nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her sister, Anda (Anto) Maric and Josip (nee Lucija) Bartulovic; sister-in-law, Mara Bartulovic; and brother-in-law, Marko Maric.
Ivka was preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Matija Bartulovic; brothers, Pero (Ciro), Marko and Vlado Bartulovic; and sister, Anka Maric.
Family will receive friends to celebrate Ivka’s life from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, July 14, 2023, at St. Paul’s Croatian Church, 1369 E. 40th St., Cleveland, OH 44103. Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. Her final resting place will be at All Souls Cemetery, 10366 Chardon Rd., Chardon, OH 44024.
