Obituary for Gloria Jean Sparks

Gloria J. Sparks, 81, of Mentor-on-the-Lake, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2022, at Salida Woods Assisted Living in Mentor.
Born March 18, 1941, in Bim, W.Va., she moved to Ohio in 1960 and had been a resident of Lake County since 1970.
Gloria was a member of Mentor Baptist Church, enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles. She had retired from the Lake County Board of Developmental Disabilities in 2018.
She was the loving mother of Scott Sparks (Rhonda Rodick), and Steven (Michele) Sparks; cherished grandmother of Libby, Megan, Ashton and Toby; and dear aunt of Bryan Browning in West Virginia.
Gloria was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harlan Sparks in 2011; parents, John and Jessie (nee Seslar) Huff; brother, Bill Browning; and nephew, Brent Browning.
Family and friends to meet for a funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday, June 3, at Mentor Baptist Church, 7500 Johnnycake Ridge Road, Mentor. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at church. Burial will follow the service at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township.
