Obituary for Friedrich R. "Fred" "Uncle Fred" Stark
Funeral Mass for Friedrich R. “Fred” “Uncle Fred” Stark, 85, of Willowick, will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 26, 2023, at St. Mary Magdalene Church, 32114 Vine St., Willowick.
Fred passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at Hospice of the Western Reserve in Cleveland.
Born May 30, 1938, in Wintersgreen, Czech Republic, he had lived in the Collinwood area of Cleveland before moving to Willowick 49 years ago.
He was a 1957 graduate of Collinwood High School, a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1961 to 1967, and was an avid sports fan who enjoyed the Indians, Cavaliers and Browns.
Mr. Stark had worked at Bailey Meter in Cleveland and retired as a machinist from Bardons & Oliver in 2000.
Fred was the loving brother of Peter R. (Linda) Stark and Carol E. Stark; dear uncle of Peter R. (Laurie) Stark Jr., and Jennie M. (Phil) Finocchiaro; great-uncle of Santino and Carmine Stark, Sydney and Colby Stark, and Madeline and Emma Finocchiaro; cousin of many in Solon, West Virginia and Germany; and special friend of James Dalton and Elaine (Glenn) Broski.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Rudolf and Elsa (nee Wohner) Stark.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Burial will follow the Mass at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
