Obituary for Eileen R Dillon
Funeral Mass for Eileen R. (nee Gibbons) Dillon, 76, of Mentor, will be 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 3, 2023, at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 8540 Mentor Ave., Mentor. Father Tom Elsasser will officiate.
Eileen passed away Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023, at University Hospital in Cleveland.
Born Oct. 23, 1946, in Cleveland, she had been a resident of Lake County for 24 years.
She was a graduate of Beaumont High School in Cleveland Heights and a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church and the Irish American Club East Side Inc. She enjoyed monthly get-togethers with her “Beaumont Girls.” Family and her grandchildren were her top priorities.
Eileen was a retired registered nurse, working 54 years at St. Vincent Charity Hospital in Cleveland.
She was the loving mother of Christopher D. (Nikki) Dillon, Jonathan T. (Julie) Dillon, Ryan M. Dillon and Erin K. (Nick) Thompson; cherished grandmother of Makayla, Nicholas, Shannon, Patrick and Sean; great-grandmother of Liam; dear sister of Kate (Roger) Vinci and Brigid (Andy) Devery; and aunt of nieces and nephews.
Eileen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David D. Dillon in 2014; and parents, Adrian and Eileen (nee Rose) Gibbons.
Family will receive friends from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023, at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), in Mentor. Burial will be private.
