Obituary for Edward Dominic Carano

Mass of Christian burial for Edward Dominic Carano, 87, of Mentor will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at St. Bede the Venerable, 9114 Lakeshore Blvd., Mentor, where visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Fr. Tim Plavac will officiate.
Edward passed away Monday, Sept. 12, 2022, at Amelia Grace Assisted Living Facility in Chesterland.
Born July 2, 1935, in Campbell, he lived there and in North Olmsted, before moving to Lake County 22 years ago.
Edward was a member of St. Bede the Venerable Church in Mentor, and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict.
He retired from Youngstown Sheet and Tube and L.T.V. Steel, working as an electrician for 44 years.
He was the loving father of Denise Carano of Cleveland Hts., Karla Carano of Washington, Sandy (Ed) Kamensky of Beachwood and Vicki (Michael) LeVan of Willoughby Hills; cherished grandfather of Jerrod Burright, Ava Kamensky, Ethan LeVan, Ryan LeVan; loving brother of Marilyn (Bill) McKnight of Cincinnati; brother-in-law of Betty Jane Carano of Poland, Ohio and Eleanor Scullen of Willowick; and uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Edward was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joan F. (nee Opincar) Carano in 2019; parents, Carl and Madeline (nee Rich) Carano; brother, Herman Carano; sister, Evelyn (Don, dec.) Nelson; brother-in-law, Bob Scullen; and nephew, Colin McKnight.
