Obituary for Donna Tulley

Donna (nee Cahill) Tulley, 68, of Euclid passed away unexpectedly April, 3, 2024, at her home. Her memory will be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
She was born Jan. 10, 1956, to Helen and Richard Cahill on Long Island, N.Y.
Her family moved to Mentor when she was a toddler. After graduating from Mentor High School in 1974, Donna went on to Lutheran Medical Center’s School of Nursing. She began her nursing career at Lutheran, where she served as Head ICU Nurse. Her varied career over 40 years included time at Mount Sinai Hospital, as well as serving as a home health nurse when her children were young. In recent years, she transitioned to nursing home care, serving as Director of Nursing at Kindred Care, Painesville and most recently as Nurse Manager at Wickliffe Country Place.
When Donna lost her husband Tim, it was the ever present love and support of her friends that helped sustain her. They opened their hearts and their homes and embraced her as family. As a consummate Ohio State fan Donna could always be found at the Euclid Post 343 cheering on the Buckeyes with her friends. Donna loved to love on people. She was the most selfless person you could ever meet. She was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her sons and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as grandma. She grew up as an only child, but blossomed in her role as sister-in-law and aunt to her husband’s large, extended family. She will be forever remembered as the steady, calming presence in any storm or rough sea. Whatever life’s challenges, Donna handled them with uncanny grit and determination. She was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Donna is survived by many loving individuals, including her two sons, Sean (Clare) Tulley and Colin (Meghan) Tulley; grandchildren, Quinn, Owen, Francis, Maeve, and Mairin; mother-in-law, Mary Rita Tulley; sisters-in-law, Debbie Hill, Candy Kermode, Ellen (David) Ondrey, Sarah (James) Ihlenfield, and Mary (Edward) Jahnke; and countless nieces, nephews and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Timothy Tulley; parents, Richard and Helen Cahill; father-in-law, Joseph Tulley; and brothers-in-law, Patrick Tulley, Brookes Hill and John Kermode.
Family will receive friends from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), in Mentor. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 11, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Mentor Cemetery.
