Obituary for Dominic M Formica

Funeral Mass for Dominic M. Formica, 89, of Painesville, will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Church, 242 N. State St., Painesville.
Dominic passed away Friday, Oct. 28, 2022, at his residence.
Born May 28, 1933, in Rossiter, Pa., he had been a resident of Lake County for 30 years, living in Willoughby before moving to Painesville.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean War and a member of St. Mary’s Church in Painesville. Dominic loved golfing, gambling and watching old black and white movies on television. His favorites included Gunsmoke and Turner Classics.
Mr. Formica was a retired welder.
Dominic was the cherished grandfather of Jennifer, Ricky (Crystal), Robert, Christopher (Dana), Eric (Jenna), Jessica (Seth), Jacqueline, Amanda (Casey) and Dominic; great-grandfather of Juliana, Savannah, David, Brewer, Shiloh, Gavin and Lucas; father-in-law of Deborah and Korine Formica; dear brother of Mary Petti, Martha Kulp and Margaret Wargo; and uncle of many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Emilia J. (nee Castrigano) Formica; children, Michael Formica, Christopher Formica, Robert Formica and Daniel Formica; parents, Anthony and Mary (nee DeFranco) Formica; siblings, Rosemary (Andrew, dec.) Halar, Louis (Margaret, dec.) Formica and Anthony (Louise, dec.) Formica; and brothers-in-law, Michael Petti and Steve Wargo.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), in Mentor. Burial with honors will follow the Mass at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville.
