Obituary for David Mark Allen
David Mark Allen 63, of Mentor, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2023, at Heroes of Harbor Hospice located at Louis Stokes VA Hospital in Cleveland.
Born June 1, 1960, in Garden Grove, Calif., he had been a Lake County resident for 14 years, living in Eastlake before moving to Mentor.
David attended Willoughby South High School, was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of AA, and an avid golfer at the Lost Nation Golf Course. His proudest achievements in life were being a father, grandfather, brother and friend.
Mr. Allen was a retired salesman from Serpentini Chevrolet in Willoughby Hills.
David was the loving father of Crystal Rose Allen, Michael Lee Allen and Dustin Ray (Jenna) McLaughlin; cherished grandfather of Dustin Ray McLaughlin Jr., and Luke Riley George; dear brother of R. Michael (Kelly) Allen and Joy (Mark) Sherry; brother-in-law of Linda Allen; nephew of Margaret Hay; and the uncle and cousin of many. He also leaves his good friend and caretaker, Jill Willoughby.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard “Dick” Allen and Mary Ann (nee Broden) Allen; stepmother, Carole Allen; and siblings, Victoria (Max, dec.) Huebner, Daniel Allen and Mitchell Allen.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby, with a Celebration of Life service and military honors at 7:30 p.m.
