Obituary for Betty Lou Behnke

Betty Lou Behnke, 86, of Willowick, passed away Sunday, Nov. 7, 2021, at TriPoint Medical Center in Concord Township.
Born May 26, 1935, in Cleveland, she had been a resident of Lake County for more than 56 years.
Betty Lou loved antiquing was artistically creative and was the “life of the party.”
She was the owner of Circle Lounge in Eastlake for more than 20 years, the former owner of the Travesty Shop in downtown Willoughby and a volunteer for Meals-on-Wheels with her friend, Norma.
Betty Lou was the loving mother of Rick (Theresa) Dooley, Carole Vaccariello (Don Lewis), and Mike (Jennifer) Dooley; mother-in-law of Shelly Dooley; cherished grandmother of Mandy Baker, Matt Vaccariello, Scott Dooley, Sara Schaffer Arnold, Danielle Dooley, Katelyn Dooley, Troy Dooley, Tacy Dooley, Alex Dooley, Amber Dooley Campbell, Abbey Dooley DeTomaso, Adam Dooley, Jeremy Meadows and Aaron Meadows; great-grandmother of 14; sister-in-law of Mary MeKruit, Elaine MeKruit and Steve Kovacich; and aunt of many nieces and nephews. She also leaves many, many cherished friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore W. Behnke; husband, Roy Dooley; son, Rod Dooley; parents, Louis and Elizabeth (nee Rein) MeKruit; and siblings, Robert MeKruit, William MeKruit and Laura Kovacich.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby, with a Celebration of Life service at 5:30 p.m. Burial will be private.
