Obituary for Anthony J "Tony" Losecco

Tony J. Losecco, 89, of Willoughby, passed away peacefully with his daughters by his side Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at Mapleview Country Villa in Chardon.
Born Sept. 28, 1933, in Hornell, N.Y., to the late Anthony and Josephine (nee Marino) Losecco.
Tony served for two years in the U.S. Army, where he finished high school. He was honorably discharged as a Corporal and always said those were the two best years of his life. After leaving the Army, he married Mary Donaldson, also from Hornell, N.Y., and they had three children. They moved to Painesville, where he worked for his brother-in-law at his pizzeria and bakery. They then moved to Willoughby, where he got a job with Kennemetal, where he worked for 35 years before retiring.
He loved spending time with his family and his grandchildren were his pride and joy. Sunday dinners were his absolute favorite. He enjoyed cooking for family and friends and was always cracking jokes. Tony loved to make everyone laugh, including himself. He was an avid walker and could be seen every day walking through Downtown Willoughby, smiling and saying “Hello.” He will be missed.
Tony was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary A. (nee Donaldson) Losecco; daughter, Gina T. Sullivan; parents, Anthony and Josephine (nee Marino) Losecco; and siblings, Eva Armetta, Anna Messina, Salvatore Losecco, Julia Schiera, Felicia Losecco and Francis Losecco.
He was the loving father of Josephine E. Losecco and Michelle M. (John) Losecco Naro; cherished grandfather “Papa” of Terri Wlodarczyk, Buddy Wlodarczyk, Michael Naro and Aly Naro; dear brother of Mary Losecco; and uncle of nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 25, at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave. (located on the grounds of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home), in Willoughby, with Military Honors to be conducted at 3:30 p.m.
