Obituary for Anna Mae Zirke
Funeral Mass for Anna Mae (nee Tirabasso) Zirke, 91, of Willoughby, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024, at St. Mary Magdalene Church, 32114 Vine St., Willowick. Father Steve Breck will officiate.
Anna passed away Monday, Jan. 1, 2024, at Euclid Hospital.
She was born July 30, 1932, in Cleveland.
Anna was a member of St. Justin Martyr Church in Eastlake and St. Mary Magdalene Church in Willowick. She was also a member of the Browning Center, Wickliffe Center, J.F.K. Center and Willowick Center. Anna loved swimming, playing Bocce, Shuffle Board, Scrabble and cards, especially Pinochle and Poker. She also loved gambling and going on trips.
She was the loving mother of Ronald Vargo and Wendy (Steve) Butler; cherished grandmother of Stephanie (Shawn) Murphy and Halle (Joe) Bluhm; great-grandmother of Madeline Grace Murphy; dear sister Angela Lamonica; and aunt of many.
Anna was preceded in death by her first husband, Stanley “Steve” Vargo; second husband, Carl Zirke Jr.; parents, Angelo and Anna (nee Palarmo) Tirabasso; siblings, Dominic (Sara, dec.) Tirabasso, Mary (Rocco, dec.) Antonuccio, Clara (Frank, dec.) Bicjak, Carl (Grace, dec.) Tirabasso, Jane (Don, dec.) DePalma, and Yolanda (David, dec.) Bottiggi; and brother-in-law, Frank Lamonica.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5, 2024, at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
