Obituary for Albert F Hanzlick

A Mass of Christian Burial for Albert F. Hanzlick, age 91, of Mentor, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2023, at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 8560 Mentor Ave., Mentor.
Albert passed away Feb. 9, 2023, at his home.
After serving in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean War, Al pursued a career as a CPA in various accounting management positions. He was a life member of the Board of Directors of Jennings in Garfield Heights, was active in the Knights of Columbus, and served at St. Monica Catholic Church as an usher. He lived a long wonderful life filled with faith, service, and family.
Albert was the beloved husband of 20 years to Dawn (nee Moore); dearly beloved father of Donna Deye (Doug Gernert), Nancy Potter (Al Ward), Thomas (Andrea Palaia), Glenn (Genevieve) and Joyce; cherished grandfather to Bryan (Hannah) Deye, Matt Deye, Megan Deye, Lauren, Allison, Brandon, Erik, Ryan, Alexandra, Jake, and Alexander (Sadie); great-grandfather to three; loving stepfather of Keith Hogan (Barbara) and Kelly Merino (Mark); step-grandfather of Nicole Hogan (Chris Zust), Brittany Hogan, Naomi Merino, Isabella Merino (Rory Gilliland), and Jackson Merino; brother of Beatrice Sabatka; brother-in-law of Dorothy Hanzlick; and uncle of many dear nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Veronica; daughter, Linda; and brother, Raymond.
Family and friends are invited to gather from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2023 at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615 north of Route 2), in Mentor, prior to the Mass. Interment will follow the Mass at Holy Cross Cemetery in Brook Park.
