Funeral Mass for Agnes M. (nee Kuhar) Farroni, 94, of Willoughby, will be 12 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at St. John Vianney Church, 7575 Bellflower Road, Mentor. Father Tom Johns will officiate. (Service may be viewed at https://www.facebook.com/SJVmentor).
Agnes passed away Friday, May 19, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her family and companions “Marley” and “Sadie”.
She was born February 21, 1929, in Cleveland.
Agnes was the loving wife of the late Benedict R. Farroni for 59 years. She was a founding member of St. John Vianney Church in Mentor, and a former member of St. Ann’s Church in Cleveland Heights and Immaculate Conception Church in Willoughby. Along with her husband, she served for many years on the Catholic Charities Appeal Parish Team. She was very active at St. John Vianney were she volunteered in the food pavilion at the parish festival and the Lenten Fish-Fry’s, served as a weekly collection counter, and assisted events held at the parish social hall. As a 75-year resident of Willoughby, she served on the Clean City Committee. She was always supportive of her children’s and grandchildren’s activities.
She was the loving mother of James F. (Shirley) Farroni, Margaret M. (Daniel) Regrut, Kathleen A. Venditti, Mark B. (Janet) Farroni, William P. Farroni, Joseph P. (Stephanie) Farroni, Maria A. (Christopher) Aiello, and Christopher J. Farroni; cherished grandmother of Adam, Gary, Robert (Ana), Justine (Steven), Jennifer (Neil), Michael, Elizabeth (Nicholas), Austin (Cara), Denise (Nathan), Alexandra (Anthony), Kara, Allison (Mark), Madison and David; great-grandmother of Christopher, Kaylein, Fernando, Alexander, Mason, Brayden, Maya, Violet, Nathaniel, Isabella, Benedict, Cameron, Jameson, Rosemary, Baby Farroni and Baby Walker; sister-in-law of Lana Kuhar; and the aunt and cousin of many.
Agnes was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Benedict R. Farroni in 2012; precious son, Michael R. Farroni; daughter-in-law, Karen S. Manning-Farroni; son-in-law, James A. Venditti; parents, George Sr. and Alma (nee Hirsch) Kuhar; and siblings, Albina Kuhar, Lillian (John, dec.) Rusnov, George Kuhar Jr. and Edward Kuhar.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), in Mentor. Burial will follow the Mass at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
The family suggests contributions in her name be made to the St. John Vianney Food Bank.
