Obituary for Herbert "Herbie" Dondorfer

Herbert “Herbie” Dondorfer of Mentor, formerly of Concord Township and Rocky River, passed away October 20, 2018, at Hospice of the Western Reserve in Cleveland. Herbie fought a gallant four-month battle, due to complications resulting from heart surgery.
Herbie was known for his unique design style as President of Lanmark Homes of Ohio LLC. His custom-built homes are located throughout Lake County.
Herbie is survived by his “Tomato” Kathleen (Stenger). His greatest joys were his three children, Michele, Craig and Haley. Coming from Austria, together as young boys, his closest bond was his dear brother and best friend, Carl (Deborah). Together they welcomed their younger sister, Susan (Dottler). Herbie had a lot of love to share with his nephew, Carl IV (Alyson); and niece, Heidi DiVincenzo (Nino). They shared a deep love with Herbie and were like second children to him.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Nicholas, Paige and Wyatt; great-nephew, Reilly; and great-nieces, Francesca, Elizabeth, Mallory and Carley. Herbie is also survived by his two, beloved furry friends and recliner mates, Oscar and Clarence.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 AM Thursday at St. John Vianney Church, 7575 Bellflower Road, Mentor. Friends and family are asked to meet at the church at 9:30 AM for a celebration of Herbie’s life prior to the Mass. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, P.O. Box 72101, Cleveland, OH 44192, or the Lake County Humane Society, 7564 Tyler Blvd., Mentor, OH 44060.
Arrangements are entrusted to McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Homes in Willoughby and Mentor.
