Obituary for Joel Douglas Briskey

Joel Douglas Briskey, 74, of Willoughby, passed away April 28, 2018, at Mapleview Country Villa in Chardon.
Born July 12, 1943, in Cleveland, he had been a resident of Lake County for 42 years.
Mr. Briskey was a U.S. Navy veteran and retired from the U.S. Army Reserves, having served as a Staff Sergeant. Joel truly loved his grandchildren.
Joel was the loving husband of 50 years to Judith A. (nee Newberg) Briskey; loving father of Bryan A. (Debby) Briskey of Thompson and Donna L. Durfee of Mentor; cherished grandfather of Kristen, Tyler, Ryan; brother of Brad (Diane) Briskey; brother-in-law of Denny Newberg; and uncle of Amy, Scott, Robin, Tracy and Jamie.
He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Dennis Durfee; and parents, Stanley and Hilda (nee Babisky) Briskey.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave. (located on the grounds of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home), in Willoughby, with a memorial service at 7 p.m. Burial will be private.
