Obituary for Allan E. McLaughlin

Private services were held for Allan E. McLaughlin, 77, of Mentor.
Allan passed away Wednesday, Apr. 18, 2018 at Lake Health West Medical Center in Willoughby.
Born June 11, 1940 in Cleveland, he had been a Lake County resident for a majority of his lifetime.
Allan was a board certified psychiatrist in private practice and was a devoted, tireless clinician. He was a retired LTC of the U.S. Army and was the recipient of the Viet Nam Service Medal, Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
He was a member of Mentor Harbor Yacht Club since 1976 and the Mason’s. He enjoyed boating, travel and loved going to the movies.
Allan was the beloved husband of Sally M. (nee O’Malley) McLaughlin; loving father of Heather D. McLaughlin, Scott A. McLaughlin, Doug J. (Laurie) McLaughlin, Jamie L. (Joe) Migliori and Halle R. McLaughlin; cherished grandfather of Camden, Bennett, Martine, Ella, Mitchell, Riley, Douglas, Josie and Jessie; stepfather of Mona E. (John) Maruna and Greg C. (Michelle) Markarian; brother of Jim (Pat) McLaughlin; and uncle of Ann and Amy. He also leaves his former wife, Wendy Busch (nee Millar), mother of Heather, Scott and Doug.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everet and Evelyn (nee Endle) McLaughlin.
