Donald B. Hood, 84, of Willoughby, passed away Feb. 1, 2018, at Heartland of Willoughby.
Born Feb. 26, 1933, in Cleveland, he had been a resident of Lake County for the past 50 years.
Don was a U.S. Navy veteran and a Mason, and was active in the Ridge Acres Civic Association> He was also a member of the swim team Parent Organization at the Lake County YMCA, loved to golf and enjoyed softball and bowling.
Mr. Hood retired in 1990 from C.E.I.
Don was the beloved husband of 54 years to Jeanne E. (nee Powell) Hood; loving father of Richard B. (Carol) Hood and Brian W. Hood (Diana McGarry); and cherished grandfather of Chelsey Hood and Kendric Hood.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert A. and Mary B. (nee Balfour) Hood; and brother, Robert A. Hood.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby, with a celebration of life to be held at 3:30 p.m. Rev. Dana Cummings of Renaissance Unity Church in Warrensville Heights will officiate. Burial will be private.
