- I first met Uncle Bart when I was 6 years old. The first time I ever got to dance was with Grandpa Sopko at the wedding of my Aunt Jane to my Uncle Bart. I remember what I was wearing too even though I was only 7 years old at the time.
Over the years you gave me cousins to play with. When family got together I was the head diaper changer. Uncle Bart would say "Better you than me" I only ever remember him with the thick moustache and big smile. His laugh was a chuckle...an infectious chuckle. Some of my fondest memories are all of us sitting at the dinner table at Grandma and Grandpas with the entire family. Later the kids would play and the adults would play card games. After Grandpa passed... I don't remember ever playing cards again.
Uncle Bart has been a part of our family for 33 years. I will always remember his laugh, his smiles, his sense of humor and his love of family and love of the Cleveland Indians. He was loved and will always be remembered and he will be sorely missed.
Words really mean nothing when you are grieving and numb. But I remember one set of words that I found comfort in when Peter died. "What an incredible difference a single life can make" And it's so true. Uncle Bart made a difference just being in our lives. From Ken and I, our heart felt sympathy goes out to Aunt Jane, Stacey, Beth, Kim and Drew as well as Uncle Bart's side of the family. We're not there in person to share in your sorrow, but we are there in spirit to give you whatever love and support you need.
We love you..
