    • Funeral Mass for Alice D. "Penny" Walton, 86, of Holiday, Fla. (formerly of Eastlake), will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Immaculate Conception Church, 37940 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Mrs. Walton passed away June 22, 2010, at her residence in Holiday. Born May 6, 1924, in Cleveland, she was a Florida resident for the last 10 years. Penny was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Willoughby and Court of Mary. She was a very active member of the church choir for many years. She loved playing bingo and was an avid gardener who had an exception "green thumb." Mrs. Walton was a retired registered nurse, working in the emergency room at Charity Hospital in Cleveland for many years. She was the loving mother of Kathy M. (Jack) Thompson of Madison, Joseph T. Walton of Lincoln, Neb. and Marianne L. Walton of Holiday; cherished grandmother of Joseph (Dani) Thompson and Pamela Thompson; and great-grandmother of Molli and Jill. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul R. Walton, in 1994; and her sister, Ruth Cale. The family will receive friends 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Fr. Joe Mecir will officiate at services. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.

    • janet aka benjamin i have very good memories of penny as a child.we lived many years on the next street. i know she loved her home and was very disappoined when she was forced to move..penny always had alot of kids over her house and never cared we slept over and swam in her pool. i never remember her yelling at us..and i remember her husband paul. a very quiet man who sat in the kitchen smoking his cigar..two very loving people who shared there home with many children thanks penny..
