  • Funeral Mass for Theresa Y. (Nolin) Short, 75, of Mentor, will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John Vianney Church, 7575 Bellflower Road, Mentor. Mrs. Short passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at Southpoint Hospital in Warrensville. Born Aug. 30, 1934, in Providence, R.I., she had been a Lake County resident for the past 43 years, living in Eastlake before moving to Mentor. She was a member of St. John Vianney Church in Mentor. Theresa was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In her leisure time, she loved arts and crafts, enjoyed traveling and taking cruises, and thoroughly loved animals of "all kinds." She was the beloved wife of 50 years of James R. Short; loving mother of James M. (Theresa) Short of Willoughby, Susan M. (Wesley) McCauley of Mentor and John E. Short of Madison; cherished grandmother of Danielle, Timothy, Sarah, Wesley, Anna, Shannon, Samantha, Alexandria and Stephen; great-grandmother of Zachary and Ryland; sister of Gabrielle Flaxington of Providence, R.I., Sr. Florence Nolin, S.G.M. of Montreal, Canada, Robert (Marilyn) Nolin of Beaufort, N.C., and Paul (Patricia) Nolin of Morehead City, N.C.; sister-in-law of Bernadette Nolin of Southfield, R.I., and Doris Nolin of Providence, R.I.; and aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Yvonne (Dandaneau) Nolin; siblings, Ernest Nolin, Gilbert Nolin and Lucille Faucher; and brother-in-law, Robert Faucher. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St., (Route 615, north of Route 2), Mentor. Burial will be in Mentor Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in her name be made to Lake County Humane Society, 7564 Tyler Blvd., Mentor, OH 44060, or Birthright of Lake County, 7471 Tyler Blvd., Mentor, OH 44060.

• • Dear Short Family, I am so sorry for your loss please accept my sincere condolences at this time. Something that I personally have found to be a great source of comfort is the thoughts expressed in the Bible at John 5:28,29 where we see that God is going to bring our loved ones back to life. Also at Revelation 21:4 we see that God is going to eliminate all of the causes for why we deal with sorrow,pain and even death itself. It is my sincere hope that these thoughts bring your family comfort at this time. once again I am so sorry for your loss.
