    • Funeral services for John Andrakanich, 85, of Willoughby, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Mr. Andrakanich passed away Friday, June 11, 2010, at Hospice House in Cleveland. Born Sept. 15, 1924, in Burgettstown, Pa., he had been a Lake County resident for the past 55 years, living in Willoughby. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the 112th Cavalry in the Philippines. He was a proud member of Teamsters Local 507. In his leisure time, he enjoyed bowling, gambling junkets and loved music and singing. Mr. Andrakanich retired in 1986 from Halex Company, where he worked as a die repairman with 35 years of service. He was the beloved husband of 62 years of Violet J. (Wisnosky) Andrakanich; loving father of Linda J. (Randy) Lotz of Willoughby, Diane L. Kopinsky of Hambden Township and Donna M. Johnson of Willoughby; cherished grandfather of Richard, Tami, Alicia, Doug, Ryan and Jami; great-grandfather of Nicole, Brandon, John, Erika, Emma, Anna, Leah and Austin; and uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Helen (Kenes) Andrakanich; sons-in-law, James Kopinsky and James Johnson; three brothers; and four sisters. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 300 E. 185th St., Cleveland, OH 44119.

    • I'm sorry for your loss. "If a man dies, shall he live again?" (Job 14:14). Yes, the Bible promises that there will be a resurrection in the near future. John 5:28,29 states: "Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out." So, have confidence in this and draw comfort from God and the Bible. Draw close to God in prayer, and the Bible promises that "he himself will sustain you".
