Mr. Klima passed away March 5, 2010, at Lake West Medical Center in Willoughby. Born March 22, 1950, in Brownsville, Pa., he was a Lake County resident for more than 50 years, living in Willowick and Mentor. A 1969 graduate of Eastlake North High School, he was a member of the Mentor Eagles and was a football coach with Mentor Youth Football. A retired member of Laborers Local 860, he was an avid Beatles fan who loved to make people laugh. He always had his trusty cigar - that he never lit - and very few days were missed that he didn't shoot pool with his "306" buddies. ("That's a dollar.") Mr. Klima was the beloved husband of Sandra J. (nee Lucht) Klima; loving father of Melani Klima of Mentor, Darcy (Darren) Horvath of Mentor and Michael Klima of Eastlake; grandfather of Vincent; stepfather of Jeffery (Lois) Hahn of Mentor, Amber (Guy) Arkenburg of Chester Township and Adam Hahn of Painesville; and stepgrandfather of Zach, Ryan, Haily, Mattie, Collin, Jeremy and Lauren; brother of Thomas G. (Rita) Klima of Mentor, Regina C. Efcic of Mentor, Sharon L. (Bo) Szabo of Mentor, Rochelle M. (John) O'Neill of Lee Summit, Mo., Frank S. (Denise) Klima of Mentor, Theresa A. (Jeff) Palmer of Mentor-on-the-Lake and Lawrence E. (Deborah) Klima of Mentor. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and man's best friend: his dog, Gizmo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Elizabeth (nee Fabrick) Klima. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Fr. Fred Pausche will officiate at services. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in his name may be made in care of the family.
