- A celebration of life service for L. Eric Sangdahl, 56, of Wickliffe will be 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, at the McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Mr. Sangdahl passed away Feb. 6, 2010, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born March 3, 1953, in Cleveland. He was a member of Local 18, Operating Engineers. He had a passion for animals and enjoyed sailing and camping. "He will remain in our hearts and will be deeply missed by all." He leaves behind a legacy of compassion, kindness and the power of family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Jane (nee Maio); beloved children, Katie, Elizabeth, Jonathon and Jessica; mother, Mary Lou; siblings, Abbie (Ed) Frost, Chris (Ritva), John (Lou), Rob (Tina) and Kenyon; mother-in-law, Gladys (Keith) Alvarez; brother-in-law, Mark (Rose) Maio; sisters-in-law, Monica (Paul) Gallagher, Shelly Maio and Marcie VanWinkle; and nieces, nephews and cousins. Eric was preceded in death by his father, Robert. The family will receive friends from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. A private family burial In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wickliffe City Schools for the Eric Sangdahl Scholarship Fund.
