Obituary for Rita Marie Burkett

Funeral Mass for Rita Marie Burkett, 84, of Euclid, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of the Lake Church, 19951 Lake Shore Blvd., Euclid.
Mrs. Burkett passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at her residence with her family at her side.
Born June 2, 1934, in Cleveland, she had been a resident of Euclid for the past 54 years.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Church (formerly Holy Cross Church) in Euclid, and was active in the parent association. Rita was also a member of the Irish American Club East-Side, Inc. in Euclid, loved being with her family and grandchildren, and enjoyed gardening and taking tips to her Pennsylvania farm.
She was the beloved wife of 62 years to James W. Burkett; loving mother of James J. (Eileen) Burkett, William G. (Kathleen) Burkett, John E. (Bridget) Burkett, Kathleen M. (Michael) Laffey, Karen A. (Michael) McGarry, Joseph R. Burkett and Daniel P. Burkett; cherished grandmother of Patrick Burkett, Kevin Burkett, Brian Burkett, Neil Burkett, Mary Burkett, Bridget Burkett, Erin Burkett, Maura Burkett, Brianne Burkett, Katie Burkett, John Burkett, James Burkett, Keara Laffey, Michael Laffey, Patrick Laffey, Bridget Laffey, Meggie McGarry, Michael McGarry, Marty McGarry, Danny McGarry, Kathleen McGarry, Bonn Rassavong, Brandon Rassavong and Margaret Burkett; great-grandmother of one; and aunt of nieces and nephews.
Rita was preceded in death by her parents, James and Marion (nee O’Donnell) Donovan; and siblings, Daniel (Clara) Donovan, James (Doris) Donovan and Dorothy (Louis) Roesch.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), Mentor. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
