Obituary for Florence Joan "Flossie" Sierocki

Mass of Christian Burial for Florence Joan “Flossie” Sierocki, 95, will be 11 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Church, 37940 Euclid Ave., Willoughby.
Florence left us peacefully to be with the Lord Feb. 8, 2018.
She was born March 31, 1922, in Barnesboro (Cambria Township), Pa., a little coal mining town in the western part of Pennsylvania.
Her grandfather, Stefan Sierocki, was a grocer. Father Stanley Veneskey was a coal miner, who passed away at an early age due to complications with appendicitis. So, then it was the family of mother Janet, sister Caroline and Helen, and brother John that became the center of Florence’s life. They fondly called her, “Flossie,” and she was the dearly loved “Aunt Flossie” to many nieces and nephews.
During World War II, Florence moved to Ohio and began working in the factory for General Electric at the Tungsten Road Plant. She continued to work at GE until her retirement, having advanced to the position of executive secretary.
Florence was glamorous and loved to travel, especially to Miami, Fla. She played golf, studied piano and even wrote poetry. She was generous to family, friends and charities. Including her devotion to animals, she was truly kind and loving to all of God’s creatures.
Her letters were masterfully written and appreciated by those who were fortunate to receive them. Florence would often sign, “Blessings” to her greeting cards.
"God surely blessed us with Florence, and may He keep her in His loving care."
Family will receive friends from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby prior to the Mass. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
Contributions in her name may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110.
