John J  Sayles
Private family services were held for John J. Sayles, 91, of Wickliffe.
Mr. Sayles passed away Monday, Jan. 8, 2018, at Lake Health West Medical Center in Willoughby.
Born Dec. 24, 1926, in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisc., he had lived in Euclid before moving to Lake County 57 years ago, living in Wickliffe.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, member of the Milwaukee Road Historical Association and Carpenter’s Union, and enjoyed golfing.
John was the beloved husband of 65 years to Josephine M. (nee Gietano) Sayles; loving father of James T. (Terri) Sayles and Lynn M. Winters; cherished grandfather of Nicole Sayles, Michael Sayles, Kimberlee Winters, Bradlee (Holly) Winters and Kenneth (Amanda) Winters II; and great-grandfather of Kenneth III, Naomi, Kyla, Grace, Isaiah, Gwen, Devon, Josiah, Roman and Selah.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Edith (nee Birkholz) Sayles.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his name are suggested to Heartland Hospice Memorial Fund, 333 North Summit St., Toledo, OH 43604.
Arrangements are entrusted to McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Homes in Willoughby and Mentor.
