Joan Marie (nee Grikepelis) Kendro, 56, of Mentor, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017, at Hospice of the Western Reserve in Cleveland.
Born March 4, 1961, in Euclid, she had been a lifetime resident of Lake County, living in Eastlake before moving to Mentor.
Joan loved to travel, play bingo and enjoyed many gambling excursions.
She was the beloved wife of James Kendro; loving mother of Joshua Garrett, Charles Moran, Raymond Brettrager and Otis Kendro; cherished grandmother of Maria Garrett, Brianna Garrett, Annabella Garrett and Natalie Moran; sister of Thomas (Annie) Grikepelis; and aunt of Maria Grikepelis, Vera Grikepelis, Valley Grikepelis, Cansas Bucary, Tiffany Amoroso and Ricky Amoroso.
Joan was preceded in death by her son, Rocky Kendro; parents, Anthony L. and Mildred L. (nee Arp) Grikepelis; and sister, Judy Amoroso.
Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby, with a celebration of her life to be held at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be private.
Donations in her name may be made to the family for the placement of a memorial stone in the Hospice Garden.
