Funeral Mass for Charlotte D. (nee Suchonic) Kenst, 81, of Willoughby, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Church, 37940 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Fr. Timothy Kalista will officiate the Mass.
Mrs. Kenst passed away Monday, Oct. 9, 2017, at Hospice of the Western Reserve in Cleveland.
Born Sept. 24, 1936, in Butler, Pa., she had lived in Pittsburgh, before moving to Lake County 35 years ago, living in Painesville before moving to Willoughby 16 years ago.
Charlotte was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Willoughby and Al-Anon. She enjoyed talking books, and loved the Indians.
She had worked in food service at The News-Herald in Willoughby for 25 years, retiring in 2003.
Charlotte was the loving mother of Daniel J. (Heather) Kenst of Mentor, James W. Kenst of Chagrin Falls, and Kathleen A. Kenst of Willougby; cherished grandmother of nine; great-grandmother of 10; sister of Edward (Vivian) Suchonic, Richard Suchonic, and John Suchonic; and aunt of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary L. Freeman; son, Michael J. Kenst; parents, Richard and Mary (nee Reott) Suchonic; brother, Paul Suchonic; and sister-in-law, Carol Suchonic.
Family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave. (located on the grounds of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home), in Willoughby. A graveside service and burial will be 12 noon Friday, Oct. 13, at Calvary Cemetery in Butler, Pa. (Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.)
In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested in her name to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110.
