Obituary for Emma M Welo
Mass of Christian Burial for Emma M. (nee Mihalic) Welo, 91, of Mentor, will be 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 11, 2017, at St. John Vianney Church, 7575 Bellflower Road, Mentor. Fr. Thomas Johns will officiate.
Emma passed away Friday, Sept. 8, 2017, with her family at her side.
She was born Sept. 29, 1925, in Cleveland and had been a resident of Mentor for 20 years.
Emma was a member of the Christ Child Society and Slovene National Benefit Society Lodge #126. She was an avid reader, and loved crossword puzzles, opera and classical music.
She was the beloved wife of Thomas; dearest mother of Thomas Jr. (Carol), Joan Prudic, Mark, Elizabeth (Steve) Kass, Nancy Prudic, Joyce Prudic and Carter (Georgine); devoted grandmother of 14; and great-grandmother of three.
Emma was preceded in death by her sons, Edward Prudic and Philip.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), Mentor. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Cleveland.
Contributions may be made in Emma’s memory to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110.
