Obituary for Jacqueline K. Doan
Funeral service for Jacqueline K. Doan (nee Brewer), 69, of Mentor, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Mc-Mahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2) Mentor.
Jacqueline passed away Monday, Sept. 4, 2017 at Cleveland Metropolitan Hospital in Cleveland.
Born May 6, 1948 in Ashtabula, she had been a resident of Lake County for 44 years, living in Madison and then in Mentor for the last 42 years.
Jackie graduated from Kent State University in 1971, and was a first grade teacher in Geneva prior to starting her family.
She was a big Cleveland sports fan and enjoyed going to Columbus Blue Jackets games and loved Las Vegas but most important to her was her children and granddaughter.
Jacqueline was the beloved wife of 44 years to Russell H. Doan; loving mother of Jen (Kirk) VanBlarcum of Cuyahoga Falls and Jeff Doan of Mentor; cherished grandmother of Evie; sister of Diana L. Cameron of Geneva; and aunt of Scott L. (Heidi) Cameron of Wickliffe and Wendy L. (Alan) Carter of Apex, NC.
She also leaves her dog, Buddy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur J. and Reva M. (nee Arkenburg) Brewer.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mentor Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name may be made to Northminster Preschool, 104 West Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223 or Lake Humane Society, 7564 Tyler Blvd., Mentor OH 44060.
