Funeral services for Barbara Sue Bevington, 68, of Lancaster, S.C., will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), Mentor.
Mrs. Bevington passed away Aug. 24, 2017, in Andover.
Born, Dec. 21, 1948, in Jonesville, Va., she had lived in Mentor Headlands for 24 years before moving to Lancaster, S.C., more than 17 years ago.
Barbara was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2300 in Willoughby. She enjoyed spending time at Wildwood Acres in Andover and loved reading and playing Candy Crush.
She was the beloved wife of 49 years to Richard A. Bevington; loving mother of Karen J. Griffiths and Richard A. Bevington Jr. (Dawn Childs); cherished grandmother of Shawn Griffiths and Justin Bevington; daughter of Reeda Johnson; sister of Jean DeLauer, Janice Newman and Jerry (Ruth Ann) Newman; and aunt of nieces and nephews.
Barbara was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Darrell Griffiths; grandson, Charles Griffiths; father, Charles Newman; and brother-in-law, Jack DeLauer.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mentor Cemetery.
